AISCore
Structured vessel movement intelligence from AIS data — voyage reconstruction, port call detection, route analysis, sailing conditions and detour analysis powering the entire Arkiway ecosystem.
The maritime data foundation
AISCore is the central data platform within the Arkiway ecosystem. It ingests raw AIS position streams, port call information and oceanographic data, then transforms them into structured, queryable vessel movement intelligence — voyage timelines, port call events, route segments, sailing conditions and detour cost analysis.
Every Arkiway product — from cost calculations to fleet analytics — depends on AISCore as its single source of truth for vessel movements. The same data is available to external partners through commercial REST APIs with OAuth 2.0 authentication.
- Vessel voyage timelines with departure, transit and arrival events
- Port call records with berth, duration and operational timestamps
- Route segments with distance, waypoints and transit statistics
- Vessel metadata with type, flag, dimensions and classification
- Stop duration analysis with anchorage and idle period detection
- Sailing conditions with wind, current and wave data along routes
- Detour cost per intermediate port call in distance and time
Key Capabilities
From raw AIS positions to structured intelligence and route analytics — each capability is available via API.
Continuous position monitoring from AIS streams with enriched vessel metadata, flag state and vessel type classification.
Automated assembly of complete voyage timelines from raw position data — departure, transit, port approach and arrival segments.
Identify port calls with precise arrival and departure timestamps, berth assignments and operational duration analysis.
Detect vessel stops, anchorage events and idle periods based on duration thresholds and geographic zones.
Extract route segments between ports with distance calculations, waypoints and transit time statistics for voyage planning.
Query years of historical vessel movements for trend analysis, benchmarking and compliance reporting across fleets.
Wind, current and wave conditions along a route with a calculated relative cost index. Visualized in Voyage Visualizer with color-coded segments — green (favorable), yellow (neutral) and red (tough) sailing conditions.
Given a sequence of planned port calls, calculate extra distance (nm) and extra travel time (minutes) each intermediate stop adds compared to sailing directly past it — enabling operators to evaluate the cost of each port call in an itinerary.
Data Sources
AISCore aggregates and normalizes data from multiple authoritative maritime sources, ensuring comprehensive coverage and high data quality.
